I never thought that a cat would be so thoughtful towards it's buddies.Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03460266301146690352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5801242450834225954.post-52713428544967778332011-01-13T16:08:02.090-06:002011-01-13T16:08:02.090-06:00Robin, what a find! I'm thinking that the same extension cord we used for the christmas tree lights will do the trick. The feral cat colony thanks you, and I thank you. Will let everyone know how it works.stlcatladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08076413980759238057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5801242450834225954.post-3822894897199684922011-01-13T14:55:08.830-06:002011-01-13T14:55:08.830-06:00Amazon has a heated bowl for $24.10, pretty cheap,...Amazon has a heated bowl for $24.10, pretty cheap, spend over $25 and get free shipping

http://www.amazon.com/96-Ounce-Thermal-Bowl-Outdoor-Feeder-Blue/dp/B000Y8GQ56%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJX7PQXXBIODIDOTQ%26tag%3Dcatautomaticfeeder-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB000Y8GQ56RobinGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09123178450177445530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5801242450834225954.post-62098991072608732212011-01-12T18:21:45.258-06:002011-01-12T18:21:45.258-06:00@ Meridiana: I know, I REALLY worry about the fera...@ Meridiana: I know, I REALLY worry about the feral colonies in weather like this. Our four indoor cats are likewise leery of the door in this cold weather. They're like, "No way am I going out there, are you crazy?" But they're all four rescued ferals, so they've been out in this before, and know how miserable it is. One tip from Alley Cat Allies is to add sugar to the drinking water. It helps the water stay liquid just a little longer (they say), and also adds a few more calories to help them keep warm.stlcatladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08076413980759238057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5801242450834225954.post-14648982372984210722011-01-12T17:10:55.720-06:002011-01-12T17:10:55.720-06:00They are smart little creatures, aren't they? ...They are smart little creatures, aren't they? Mine is used to coming in and out as she pleases, but with the recent cold spurt, she just pokes her head out, looks horrified, and comes right back inside. I don't know how they make it outdoors this time of year. They must have been able to adapt somehow, through the centuries; but it's good to know that someone keeps food and unfrozen water out for those who now roam the wilds of the city.Meridianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03494456580516839717noreply@blogger.com
